Your students' feet contain a goldmine of information—about articulation, weight distribution, balance, and jump quality.

 

But most dancers never learn to access it.

 

Somatic awareness—the ability to perceive what the body is doing from the inside—is one of the nine elements of artistry that elevates technically correct dancers to truly compelling performers. And it starts with the feet.

This guide gives you six practical exercises to help your students develop that internal awareness. It includes strength, flexibility, and imagery approaches with suggested levels so you know exactly when to introduce each one.
